Services offered by the Bridge Project

The Bridge Project is a new cross boundary project for Women and their children affected by Domestic Abuse.

We offer various life-skills sessions, which aim to help women regain self-esteem and confidence, increase their social networks. It also allows women the chance to relax and chat in the company of other who understand their experiences and needs, which may not be readily available elsewhere.

We also have frequent Legal Advice and Debt Management sessions which allow women to take more control over their lives. Our Explore Learning sessions help women who are looking to return to education find courses and methods suitable to them and their particular needs. We also host Return to Work courses, allowing women to take steps towards re-employment or voluntary services.

We have a dedicated play room, and specialised child workers who provide supervision for children while mums take part in the sessions.

In order to make our services available to lower-income women, we also refund reasonable transport costs incurred in travelling to sessions held at the Bridge.

Regular trips and events are also arranged - in 2009 we had trips to locations such as the Waterfront Winterland in Swansea, the West Midlands Safari Park and Alton Towers, plus Halloween and Christmas parties!.
